WekaIO (with its WekaFS / Matrix software) is a high-performance, scale-out, parallel file system for performance-hungry workloads like AI/ML, genomics, HPC, media, etc. It uses NVMe flash, distributes storage across many servers, supports POSIX compliance and multi-protocol access (like NFS, SMB, object store tiers), and provides one unified namespace so everything looks consistent across on-premises or cloud.
It includes strong data protection (e.g. erasure coding or similar protection schemes), supports tiering cold data into object stores, and aims to deliver very low latency and high throughput. It makes it easier to burst between cloud/on-prem and simplify data infrastructure.
