At its core IBM Storage Scale is a massively scalable parallel filesystem with the enterprise grade reliability expected of IBM products. Its robust set of features expand this into a fully-fledged data management platform capable of maintaining many petabytes of data across a diverse range of storage technologies including flash, disk, tape and cloud.
We commonly deploy this as appliances integrated with IBM, Lenovo or DDN hardware however the software is vendor agnostic allowing us to architect solutions to meet requirements across a range of hardware platforms.
