DDN EXAScaler is DDN’s enterprise implementation of the popular open-source parallel file system Lustre. It builds on the well proven parallel performance of Lustre and adds security and data management features comparable to leading proprietary parallel file systems.
We generally deliver this as an appliance on DDN hardware designed for high performance in both IOPS and throughput at scale.
It makes a great HPC scratch storage parallel file system combining low latency NVMe for metadata and a large quantity of hard disk drives for high parallel performance. Its use of high capacity QLC NVMe drives also makes it a cost-effective solution for all-flash deployments, well suited to AI or small-file bio-informatics workloads.
